Luggage Forwarding Guide:
Travel light, move fast.

Struggling with heavy suitcases on crowded trains is the most exhausting part of Japan travel. The solution is Ta-Q-Bin—Japans world-class luggage forwarding service.

General guidance only — entry requirements change frequently. Verify with official Japanese government sources before traveling.

1. When to use Ta-Q-Bin

🛬

Airport to Hotel

Head straight to sightseeing while your bags go to your hotel.

🚄

Hotel to Hotel

Send bags from Tokyo to Kyoto and travel with just a backpack.

🛫

Hotel to Airport

Spend your last day souvenir shopping without heavy bags.

2. Where can I ship from?

🏨

Hotel Front Desk

The easiest way. Ask for "Ta-Q-Bin"—they will provide the forms and weigh your bags.

🏪

Convenience Stores

Available 24/7 at 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, and others. Look for the black cat logo.

🐈

Yamato Centers

Service counters in major stations and city centers with the "Black Cat" mark.

3. How to fill the form (Waybill)

While digital forms are increasing, paper is still common. Three critical details to include:

  • 1

    Recipient Details (To)

Include the hotel name, full address, and most importantly: Your Name + Check-in Date.

  • 2

    Sender Details (From)

Use your current hotel's address and your phone number.

  • 3

    Contents

Write "Clothing" or "Souvenirs." Avoid shipping power banks or lighters as they are restricted.

4. Standard vs. Express Services

Standard Ta-Q-Bin

Best for: Hotel-to-Hotel (Next day)

  • Cost-effective (¥2,000+)
  • Every hotel/konbini handles it
  • Usually next-day delivery
  • No fixed time booking

No pre-booking needed. Just ask at your front desk.

Express (LuggAgent)

Best for: Same-day Airport-to-Hotel

  • Same-day delivery guaranteed
  • Pre-book online in English
  • Higher cost (¥4,000+)
  • Specific pickup time required

5. Costs & Sizing

Prices are based on total dimensions (length + width + height) and distance.

Tokyo → Kyoto (Large Suitcase)≈ ¥2,000–2,500
Airport → Central Tokyo≈ ¥2,500–3,000

Payment methods: Cash, IC Card (Suica/ICOCA), Credit Cards, and QR Pay.

5. Crucial Deadlines

Next-Day Delivery

Drop off by 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at your hotel for delivery the next day.

Shipping to the Airport

You must ship at least 48 hours before your flight. If you fly on the 15th, ship it by the morning of the 13th.

Same-Day Service

Available on specific routes (e.g., Haneda/Narita to Tokyo hotels) if dropped off before 11:00 AM.

6. The 2026 Way: Digital Shipping
